Hotel Cornell, Cerler, Aragonese Pyrenees, Spain

This hotel occupies a renovated aristocratic home originally dating back to the 15th century. It lies in the village of Cerler, nestled amongst the mountains of the Benasque Valley.

Originally belonging to generations of the prominent Cornell family, the Casa Cornell has been lovingly restored to preserve much of its historic charm whilst adding the facilities of a 21st-century hotel. The traditional, mountain lodge-style building is surrounded by the Aragonese Pyrenees, making it a convenient place to stay to enjoy Cerler’s unspoilt ski resort.

The building itself features traditional wooden beams and antique-style pine wood furnishings. Even the floors of each rustic-style room are made from local pine wood. In summer, you can take in the magnificent views from the sun terrace. Modern amenities include Wi-Fi internet access, a lounge area and on-site restaurant.

  • Guide to the Aragonese Pyrenees

The Aragonese Pyrenees form the central region of Spanish Pyrenees in Huesca, in the northern Aragon province. Being so close to the mountains, it is ideal for Pyrenees summer Trekking and winter Skiing. The natural area formed by the Pyrenees is one of the most valuable assests in Aragon.

Two mountain formations are distinguished in the Alto Aragon, which parallel to each other cross it from west to east: the Pyrenees and the Pre-Pyrenees. In the most most northern we can find the impressive granite ridges of the Maladetas and Balaitus, the deep valleys of Monte Perdido and the extensive woods of the western valleys of Anso, Echo y Aragues. The Pre-Pyrenees are comprised of a series of mountain ranges such as the Mallos de Riglos and the Sierra de Guara.
