Two mountain formations are distinguished in the Alto Aragon, which parallel to each other cross it from west to east: the Pyrenees and the Pre-Pyrenees. In the most most northern we can find the impressive granite ridges of the Maladetas and Balaitus, the deep valleys of Monte Perdido and the extensive woods of the western valleys of Anso, Echo y Aragues.
